Thank You
I am writing to wish everyone in the synagogue a happy and healthy new year. Thank you for celebrating the New Year with us. I also want to express my deepest gratitude and thanks to Rabbi Myers for leading an excellent and impressively efficient service; to Sarah Nadler for her amazing voice and ease of collaborating with Rabbi Myers; to Stephen Weiss for his work leading parts of his service; for Irwin Harris for directing our congregants in sharing parts of the service; for Alan Hausman and Alex Speck for all their work behind the scenes to make the services possible; for all of our Torah readers young and veteran who showed us the present and future of the synagogue; to all the other many volunteers who played a role, and to our past presidents, who stood in representation of all that has brought us to this point in the history of the synagogue. Most of all, I wish to thank all the congregants who volunteered to give time to the synagogue or who showed their financial support of the synagogue. We will be reaching out to you shortly to express our thanks individually. We will be contacting each volunteer to connect you with the committee you volunteered to join, and to explore and discuss options with those who expressed willingness to provide support wherever needed. Please be assured that we will respect your busy schedules and will appreciate your giving whatever time you can and as much as you wish. We have a number of lay leaders with amazing ideas to continue to bring fun and engaging activities and change to the synagogue and look forward to your help making that happen. Over the next several months, I look forward to updating you on our search for staff and other ongoing projects. I hope we will continue to have wonderful collaborations, such as our “Shabbat in the hut” Friday night dinner and Simchat Torah celebrations with New Light Congregation. While this is often one of those times of the year where we often experience High Holiday service fatigue and catch up on other aspects of our lives, I have been pleased to see strong ongoing participation in services.
