The Week of Giving

My favorite season, albeit a short season, in Western Pennsylvania is Fall. The hillsides turning red, gold and green, make for a magnificent landscape we can all enjoy. Time moves on and we must take advantage of the opportunities that life has to offer.

Speaking of opportunities, many of our congregants during the High Holiday services and shortly after inquired about the Pittsburgh Foundation Annual Day of Giving. Unfortunately the Day of Giving program was not offered this year. The absence of this philanthropic initiative left us with a budget shortfall of $5,000.00 which I am asking for your help.

We have created our own “Week of Giving” this year from November 6th through the November 13th so that each of our members can help us bridge this budget shortfall. Look for a reminder in the mail, but it’s as easy as a phone call to the synagogue office (412-521-6788), dropping off a check or sending a check in the mail. Please note “Week of Giving” in the memo portion of your check.

We need your support. Each contribution is meaningful and important, so please participate as best you are able.

All contributions to the Week of Giving will appear on your 2017 end of year tax letter.

Blessings,

Joel Don Goldstein, FSA
