Staying in Touch

I have been preparing for the High Holiday and Festival services for months-- getting tickets to members, distributing honors, recruiting ushers and greeters and getting the building and grounds clean and ready . I have also been making both hospital and nursing home visits to our members, both young and mature. I am always well received and appreciated by those who are facing health and aging challenges. In today’s world of protecting ones privacy the synagogue needs to hear from you to notify us that a hospital visit or nursing home visit would be welcomed. Please stay in touch with the synagogue office and let us help you and your loved ones. Each weekday morning, those members who attend the morning minyan stay in touch with the community through prayer and with breakfast. Sunday morning, the culinary skills and prayer are turned over to the Men’s Club, who are both warm and welcoming. Shabbat morning services are followed by a nice, free Kiddush luncheon, for those who like to stay in touch and enjoy the friendship with each other from week to week. Are you receiving the synagogues e mail notices and or Rabbi Myers weekly Wednesday opportunities to learn on line? Don’t be shy! Maybe a friend or colleague would also enjoy reading and consider joining our community, but just need a little information about our synagogue. This past High Holidays, we witnessed many of our former members starting to return to the Tree and we remain encouraged by their new found energy and support for our congregation. We, like every temple and synagogue, must work to both identify and welcome members of our secular community into the synagogue family. Have you reviewed our new and upgraded web site at WWW.TOLOLS.ORG recently? Kudos to Sarah Pfeffer, chair of the Membership Committee, for her wonderful transformation in designing our web site as a functional tool for synagogue life. In closing I remind you that I welcome your call, e mail at joeldon@aol.com or office visit, sharing your thoughts about our synagogue. Blessings, Joel Don Goldstein, FSA Executive Director
