A Message From Rabbi Myers Regarding the Tragedy in Las Vegas

I posted a prayer on Facebook that I composed this morning in response to the horror of the event in Las Vegas, in the hopes that it might provide some hope and reassurance. If you would like to reach out to me, please feel welcome to do so either by telephone: (412) 521-6788 x105, or by email at RabbiJSM@gmail.com. Special prayers will be recited during our morning minyan tomorrow beginning at 7:30AM, and you are most welcome to join us as we comfort one another. O Lord, we do not know Your Divine Plan, nor can we fathom what would bring a human being to a decision to slaughter dozens of innocent, defenseless, fellow human beings and injure over five hundred. We can, and do, turn to you at a moment like this to be our Source of Strength. Provide consolation to the families who have suffered an unexplainable loss. Ease the pain of all of our injured. Bestow wisdom on their caregivers to heal them and their families. Give us confidence to live our lives in joy and health, that fear and discomfort don't overshadow all that is noble and good in life. And let us say: Amen
